1. How much does it cost to develop a custom silicone pipe or water pipe?
Mold development costs vary depending on the product design, size, and complexity. As a general reference, a custom silicone water pipe or bubbler mold may start from around USD2250.00, while a simpler silicone smoking hand pipe mold may start from around USD1000.00.
We can provide a more accurate mold quotation after reviewing your design or reference image.
2. Can I get exclusive selling rights for a newly developed silicone bong or water pipe?
Yes, exclusivity may be available for selected new product development projects.
If the product is developed according to your requirements and we cover the mold development cost, the typical arrangement is:
- MOQ: 2,000 units per model
- Initial exclusivity: 3 months
After the exclusivity period, the product may be offered to other buyers.
For new designs developed by us that have not yet been sold or promoted, the same 2,000-unit MOQ and 3-month exclusivity arrangement may apply.
If a product has already been sold or publicly promoted, exclusive selling rights cannot normally be offered.
3. What type of silicone is used for your smoking accessories?
Our silicone smoking accessories are made from solid silicone raw materials with relevant material certifications.
Depending on the material used, available certifications may include FDA, LFGB, or RoHS-related documentation.
We currently do not provide individual test reports for every finished product. Relevant raw material certification documents can be provided where available.
4. What temperature can silicone smoking accessories withstand? Does silicone have an odor at high temperatures?
Our silicone materials are designed to withstand approximately 180°C–240°C, depending on the specific material and application.
The silicone used for our smoking accessories is designed for high-temperature applications and should not produce a noticeable odor under normal intended use.
During production, a platinum curing system is used for the silicone material.
Actual temperature resistance and performance can vary depending on the product structure, material formulation, and application.
5. Will silicone smoking accessories deform over time? How durable are they?
Silicone has good flexibility and resilience, but long-term performance depends on factors such as usage, temperature, storage conditions, UV exposure, and cleaning methods.
Under normal use, properly manufactured silicone products can maintain their shape and flexibility for a long period.
For custom projects, we can discuss the specific material and performance requirements based on your intended application.
6. Does silicone attract dust? How easy is it to clean?
Silicone can naturally attract some dust because of its surface characteristics.
However, silicone smoking accessories are generally easy to clean with water and appropriate cleaning methods.
For customers who require a smoother surface finish, a tactile surface treatment can be considered to help reduce dust attraction.
This treatment may add a bit more extra cost, depending on the product and production requirements.
7. Are your silicone smoking accessories made using solid silicone compression molding?
Yes.
Our silicone smoking accessories are manufactured using solid silicone materials and compression molding processes, rather than liquid silicone injection molding.
Parting lines and minor flash can occur as part of the molding process. Products are subject to normal trimming and finishing during production.
For customized projects with specific appearance requirements, molding details can be discussed during the design stage.
8. Will the color fade over time? What type of coloring system is used?
We use silicone color masterbatch to achieve the desired product colors.
As with many silicone products, prolonged exposure to strong sunlight and UV radiation may gradually affect color over time.
Under extended outdoor exposure, color changes may become noticeable after several months, depending on the environment and color.
For applications requiring improved color stability, anti-oxidation additives can be considered. This may increase the product cost.
For typical indoor smoking accessory applications, additional anti-oxidation treatment is generally not necessary.
